Tenochitlan. Unfortunately, after the Spanish defeated the Aztecs, they destroyed the city and built what is now Mexico City in its place. Some ruins exist however, most notably the Temple of the Eagle Knights, where new members of the Eagle Knights were accepted. The name of the Aztec ruler captured by Hernando Cortes was Montezuma ll. He was captured in the capital of the Aztec Empire in the city called Tenochtitlan. The city was near what is now Veracruz, Mexico and not far from the location of Mexico's capital of Mexico City.
