There are two dates for the American involved Vietnam War:
1955-1964 is the guerrilla war South Vietnam.
1965-1975 is the conventional war in both NORTH & SOUTH Vietnam.
Note: North Vietnam was not bombed prior to 1965. NVA and USA regulars did not officially tangle prior to 1965.
The beginning will nearly always be open to interpretation; the ending of the war should almost always be easier to state, 30 April 1975.
President Eisenhower dispatched US Military troops to South Vietnam in 1955. He had US military personnel on the ground there in 1954, helping to transition the French out.
Air war over North Vietnam. Ground war in South Vietnam; Riverine war in South Vietnam.
Yes. Vietnam was a French colony. They lost a Vietnam War and were thrown out of Vietnam before America tried to win a war in Vietnam. America also lost a Vietnam War.
The Vietnam war from 1959 to 1975.
Vietnam War is a civil war because it was North Vietnam vs South Vietnam.
See: Vietnam War
1954 to 1975
France withdrew from Vietnam in 1954.
March 1959
they never did that is why historians call it a conflict not a war
1975
Most historians accept 1961 as the starting date.
The war began when President Eisenhower sent US Advisers to Vietnam in 1955; however most historians consider the starting date of the war to be 1961, when President Kennedy sent the Special Forces (Green Beret) to Vietnam.
10-20 May '69.
the date of the Vietnam dedication was 1960
Q who was the victor of the Vietnam war? A I have no idea who won the Vietnam war!!!!
No, the Vietnam War was in Vietnam
The beginning date will vary widely, I like to date it from the fall of the French in 1954 until 30 April 1975.
