It sounds like maybe the wires from the sending unit were knocked loose when the tank was replaced. Going to have to pull the tank again.
There is nothing to reset. After you replaced the fuel pump/sending unit assembly the gauge should have worked. Could be a faulty new sending unit on the new assembly. I had that happen with an aftermarket pump assembly. Bring it back and exchange it for another one.
In the fuel tank in the fuel pump assembly. It has a float attached to it, and can usually be replaced separately from the pump assembly.
Did you disconnect the battery for a while?
make sure that floating thing in the fuel tank is position right or working. The fuel gauge won't be working right if its stuck in one position. Hope that helps...
I replaced my fuel pump its in the fuel tank.... I replaced my fuel pump its in the fuel tank....
If the fuel gauge isn't working on a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer it could possibly be because the float is stuck in the fuel tank. I had this problem when I got my 99 blazer, the float and sensor for the fuel gauge is on the fuel pump which is in the fuel tank to keep it temperature regulated. I had to replace my fuel pump, which ended up going bad on me, and after it was replaced the gauge works just fine.
What type of vehicle is it? Check your fuel pump, it control the gauge that tells you your fuel level. something maybe bad there or needs to be adjusted, but usually replaced in most cases.
The fuel sending unit is part of the fuel pump in the gas tank and both must be replaced to fix the problem. The fuel pump is part of the 100,000 mile warranty.
the fuel filter is attached to the fuel pump in the gas tank. those generally get replaced when the fuel pump goes out.
have an experience mechanic test you fuel pump fuel level sensor, which is part of the fuel pump, ground the wires and if the gauge pecks gauge is good. if it don't you have to replace your cluster which is a seal item and must be replaced as a unit. do not try this yourself.
If your fuel pump was replaced and all of the fuel was not drained out, then it will read "empty" when it still has ~1/4 tank the sender unit is part of the pump
The fuel pump is located in the gas tank. You have to remove the fuel tank from the vehicle. The fuel pump is attached to the fuel gauge float assembly. I am not certain on that particular year but some of the fuel pumps themselves can be removed and replaced and on others you have to replace the entire float/pump assembly.
