How have you locked the car? If you locked it with the key, then the alarm probably isn't armed anyway. If you did manage to lock it with the remote, then unlock with the key. Open the door, and imediately put the key in the ignition and turn the ignition to the run position. The car will recognise the transponder chip in the key, and switch the alarm off if it has started sounding.

There is a switch on the left hand side of the steering wheel. The remote is not a standard alarm remote. It is on your key. I found that it is really easy to accidently hit this switch when cleaning then your remote will not work.

your remote is buggered, you can sometimes solder the button back on, inside the remote. split the remote housing and take the chip out, you should see the button has fallen off.
