Take it to the dealership, its a safety issue and is better left to the dealership to fix because if it isn't fixed right it is very dangerous for obvious reasons
# Slide your fingers underneath the bottom part of the seat from the front. # Pull up. Hard.
Cut it and pull it off. Be sure to take a look at the installation of the belt before removing it. You will need to install the new in the same configuration. Tightening the belt can be tricky.
I have the same problem in a 2000 Sebring. You can't pull the seat belts out of the seat's retractor. According to the owner's manual the seat belt mechanism needs power on to allow the seat belts to extend. When you open the door or put the key to accessory position power is allowed. The fuse for the seat belts is listed with the flashers and the flashers work ok. I will post more after I fix it. There is a wire connector under the seat that controls the seat belt mechanism. You have to make sure it is connected otherwise the seat belt will remain in the stuck position. I had the same problem, seat belt was stuck and I couldn't use it. I discovered the wire wasn't connected under the seat. Once I reconnected it and turned on the car I was able to pull the seat belt out.
Pull out old, insert new.
Apparently there is a major problem with these seatbelt doing this. You'll probably need to replace the whole unit.
Use a 3/4 inch pull bar or wrachet tool and take the pressure off the belt tensioner. Then just remove the belt and there should also be a diagram of how to do this on the inside of your engine compartment along the top of the grill somewhere.
Start engine, idle in park. Pull dipstick, wipe off and reinsert. Pull dipstick and read the level.
Depending on how steep of a grade, it may be normal operation. The seat belts use a swinging weight in them to lock during an accident. If the grade is steep enough, the weight may be in the locked position.
remove belt, remove alternator plugs, then bolts. pull out alternator. then undo bolts for bracket and remove.
It's pretty easy top cahnge a serpentine belt. There is a belt tensioner on the front of the engine. It should have a square hole in it for a 1/2 inch ratchet or breakover bar. using one of those tools, pull back on the spring loaded tensioner and you will get slack in the belt. Slip it off and replace it.
remove the belt and usually it will be a 13mm nut to remove from the front of the compressor and everything should pull off fairly easy
The best way to change the belt is to cut the old belt in half and then use the old belt to pull up on the tension pulley it will slide on easily every time. (takes two people to do this one the pull and ond to slide the belt on.
