possibly use a long wood screw held in vise grips/heated red hot and then plunged into the sensor's remaining part...let cool and try to retrieve.
On the 12 valve engine it is positioned underneath the inlet manifold at the gearbox end to replace I found it easier to remove the inlet manifold after wasting time trying to do it with the manifold in place.
if you cant figure it out you shouldn't be trying to replace it
Counter Clockwise
It is on the n/s of the engine just below the starter motor. It's a real hassle to get to. I am trying to do one at work at the moment. If I take out the starter I might be able to get at it.
did you mean underneath the exhaust manifold? and when you say "front of engine block" do you mean driver's side of engine block 'cause there is a sensor down there but there is also a sensor under the intake manifold in the block next to the oil filter. Just trying to make sure. Thanks it is located on the front of the engine block, behind the exhaust manifold. There is a bolt holding it in place. it might break when trying to remove it.I used two screws into the sides of the plastic sensor housing going through a metal bracket and dobled up some tie wire around the bracket and a pry bar and was able to pull the rest of the sensor out.
Are you trying to disable the 106 speed limit or change what is called the Vehicle Speed Sensor? If its just switching the VSS, you have to remove the air intake, then it is the plug on top of the Transmission... Check out more info here Http://www.teamzx2.com
On a '99 S-10 2.2, the camshaft position sensor is located on the passenger side of the engine block, about halfway back. You can access it through the wheel well (remove the wheel first, and be sure to use a reliable jack stand). It is directly in front of the coil pack, (about 2 - 3 inches). It has a 3-prong plug. Be very careful when trying to remove it. (I broke the crankshaft sensor off, almost had to pull the engine. I ended up drilling two holes in it and pulling it with a small needle-nosed vice grip.) Don't try to pry it out with a screwdriver. Get ahold of it with vice grips and pull with a twisting motion.
Yes. On some vehicles, the Crank Shaft Position sensor tells the computer that you are trying to start the vehicle. Without that signal, the ECM will not control the spark coil.
I am look for a engine for a infinti qx4 i need to see were a knock sensor goes am trying to fix it
Just trying to help in my caravan its about 5 inches behind the crank pully but you might have to go under the van to locate it. On a 3.3L it goes through the bell housing.
The rod bearings are between the connecting rod and the crankshaft.
look at the front (with the pulleys) of th engine
