Let your girlfriend know that you are interested in moving to Vietnam and becoming an expatriate. Ask her about employment, where to live, what kind of housing you could expect. Gauge her reaction to this news. In a country with economic hardships, where women receive strikingly unequal treatment, it's natural to find some women who will seek any outlet out in order to improve their lives. If your girlfriend is sincere and family oriented, it's less likely that she would want to move thousands of miles from her entire family without some serious thought and consideration. She might even be happy that you would be willing to move for her.
Visit her as much as possible and do not even think of marrying this woman until you've known her at least 2-3 years or more. Also be realistic about yourself and this relationship. Are you significantly older than her? Do you two share any real interests at all? Does she seem urgent in pressing a commitment or marriage? Do you have problems meeting/dating women in your own country? How did you meet her?
If it feels too good to be true, or if she's claiming she needs a small loan for her sickly mother in the hospital, your best bet is to walk away.
