You can flat tow a Honda Accord. For a 5 speed, just put it in neutral, make sure you disengage the parking brake and have the key in the assessory postition. With an automatic tranny, first start the engine and run it through the forward gears. Then put it in neutral, without going into reverse or park. ***Leave it in neutral.*** Make sure the parking brake is released. Turn off engine. You're ready to go. After about 5 or 6 hours, restart the engine and run it through the forward gears again. Make sure you return to neutral with out going into reverse. Turn engine off and you're good to go for another 5 or 6 hours. The reason for restarting and going through the forward gears is to keep the torque converter lubricated. After 5 or 6 hours it will drain back into the tranny so you need to go through this process again.

Go to dealership and buy a plastic piece that goes on the brake pedal to turn the switch on and off. This little plastic snaps into place. The insert breaks after years of use and can easily be replaced by holding the brake pedal down and push it into place.
