To check the level you have to lift the car up and remove the center plug in the drain plug on the transmission pan. These cars have a sealed transmission no dip stick to check the level. The center plug opens at the full level point of the fluid.

Hello, I too own a 2004 LS. As far as the transmission, these cars are equipped with an internal transmission. Which means, in short, only a cerified Lincoln technician can access the system.
