Types of Business Communication
There are two types of business communication in an organization:
Communication within an organization is called "Internal Communication".
It includes all communication within an organization. It may be informal or a formal function or department providing communication in various forms to employees.
Effective internal communication is a vital mean of addressing organizational concerns. Good communication may help to increase job satisfaction, safety, productivity, and profits and decrease grievances and turnover.
Under Internal Business Communication types there come;

a) Upward Communication
Upward communication is the flow of information from subordinates to superiors, or from employees to management. Without upward communication, management works in a vacuum, not knowing if messages have been received properly, or if other problems exist in the organization.
By definition, communication is a two-way affair. Yet for effective two-way organizational communication to occur, it must begin from the bottom.
Upward Communication is a mean for staff to:
o Exchange information
o Offer ideas
o Express enthusiasm
o Achieve job satisfaction
o Provide feedback
b) Downward Communication
Information flowing from the top of the organizational management hierarchy and telling people in the organization what is important (mission) and what is valued (policies).
Downward communication generally provides enabling information - which allows a subordinate to do something.
e.g.: Instructions on how to do a task.
Downward communication comes after upward communications have been successfully established. This type of communication is needed in an organization to:
o Transmit vital information
o Give instructions
o Encourage 2-way discussion
o Announce decisions
o Seek cooperation
o Provide motivation
o Boost morale
o Increase efficiency
o Obtain feedback
Both Downward & Upward Communications are collectively called "Vertical Communication"
c) Horizontal/Literal communication
Horizontal communication normally involves coordinating information, and allows people with the same or similar rank in an organization to cooperate or collaborate. Communication among employees at the same level is crucial for the accomplishment of work.Horizontal Communication is essential for:

in short.,There are four main types of communication, these consist of written, verbal, computerised and special methods. (verbal can be spilt into two groups; verbal and non-verbal) Non-verbal communication involves things such as body language, crossing your arms, having your hands in your pockets, crossing your legs, eye contact etc.
Communication is something we learn from little children. Communication means exchanging information Special:Wysiwygtalking to people. Without communication everything would be chaos. Communication is a two way process because it involves exchanging information. For example we need a sender, a receiver and a message to have a communication. In order to be a successful one the message sent has to be clearly understood. We have all experienced a failed communication, and this is because there are a few barriers in communication such as : not listening, disruptions, interruptions, misunderstandings etc
Communication is of many types. For example we have the verbal communication which is the one we use everyday orally. This communication is done through words and it can be face to face or on the phone. Besides oral communication we also can communicate through writing. Non verbal communication includes body language. We don`t necessarily pay too much attention to our body language but we should, because our posture, gestures, face mimics send a message without us knowing. Communication can also be formal or informal. Formal means the uptight communication, when we talk to new people, it`s used at work etc. Informal is the day to day way we speak, without rules
Communication can be also done through signs, images etc. There is a special language invented for deaf people. Everyone needs to communicate one way or another. We also communicate through Types of Mass Communication. These include: print media meaning, newspapers, and magazines, anything that is released on the market under the form of paper. Even if it`s said that the electronic media has replaced the printed media, there are a lot of people that prefer this way. The electronic media includes television and radio. Television includes all the programs and all the entertainment we want. Through television we can receive any kind of information. Entertainment and media always go hand in hand. Mass media can be called or seen as a double-edged sword because of the positive and negative effects the mass media has on us.
Also a new age technology is the internet that can also be called a Mass Communication. Everyone uses it, from little kids to elder people. The internet has had a great success all over the world and now we can communicate with anyone that has internet on his computer, either he is from the same country or from thousands of miles away. The internet includes, blogging, messaging, mails, websites, internet tv etc.
As a conclusion, Mass Communication is benefic for everyone, it just depends what message and what kind of information we receive. Mass communication sends through television, radio and internet any kind of information, either good or bad. We have everything we want to know, if we want to know about what are the lions from jungle doing, we can easily find out. The idea is that television is not for everyone, some TV shows are not good for children, just as accessing the internet on different sites is not appropriate for a child.
Emails, texting, phone calls, letters . etc
