i borrowed the valve adjustment kit from my dealer today.......there is a three week wait for service so i`ll try it myself... i will post some pointers when i get it done,how hard can it be?top dead center,take a measurment .find the right shim,compress and replace then check it again.and do not loose any thing into the hole or turning the thing upside down to get it back may be an option LOL gerryfraser@sympatico.ca
Exhaust coming out of the airfilter indicates a possibility of a few things. Motor has jumped time. Burnt Intake Valve It can also be that the valve lash is out of adjustment.
valve adjustment. .03 intake .04 exhaust.
.02 for the intake .03 for the exhaust

4 on the intake and 8 on the exhaust
.006 on the intake and .011 on exhaust

The valve settings on the Yamaha Bruin are located on a sticker under the seat. They should be .005 intake and .006 exhaust.
.004 to .006 in. on the intake and .006 to.008 in. on the exhaust
.06mm-.10mm on the intake .08mm-.12mm on the exhaust
Intake- 0.20 exhaust- 0.25
Intake = 0.003" Exhaust = 0.004"
