It can be due to a number or reasons. I assume its going low when ideling, or decelerating, and jumps high when accelerating. IF this is the case then it can be that you oil level is low (at least a qt.) or you oil pressure switch is bad which is very common in these cars. You may be using oil that is too thin or you oil pump might be bad. These are just a few more common reasons. I would check the easy ones first and then differentially diagnose the problem by ruling other things out. You can buy a cheap oil pressure gauge to test an make sure your pressure is low and its not the switch. Good luck.

The fuel gages, the battery gage, the oil pressure gage, and the coolant gage are on the upper instrument cluster?

Iwould tell you were the sending unit is but you did not say what you are working on. Possible clogged oil galley, filter, defective oil pressure gage, or the use of an oil that is the incorrect weight. Replace the oil filter with a Purolator filter and change the oil. Install 5W-30 oil. If the pressure is still high then you need to have the oil pressure tested with an accurate test gage, to see exactly what it is.

Oil pressure varies from car to car. But it should be near the same on most engines of the same type, I cannot give you an exact number but if you have a gage I would say that normal would be between the 1/4 and 1/2 way mark on the gage, anything lower or higher than that could cause you some problems
