Yes, they were the second father and son to serve as U.S. President (1989-1993 and 2001-2009). The first were John Adams (1797-1801) and John Quincy Adams (1825-1829). Also, William Henry Harrison (1841) and Benjamin Harrison (1889-1893) were grandfather and grandson.

Though most have the opinion to connect Theodore& F.D Roosevelt both being Pres in the 20th century TR (1901- 09) 25th & FDR (1933-45)the 31st Pres & only US Pres to serve 4 terms), since (22nd Amendment) wasn't in effect, the were distantly related as the 5th cousins.
The 1st VP & the 2nd President of US, John Adams (1797-1801), & the 6th Pres John Quincy Adams (1825-29) were related as the former Adam's being the latter's Father, is another father-son duo to become President of the US.
