Largely, no. The 6 European powers (Britain, France, and Russia vs Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy) were all imperial nations (ruling various colonies from around the world). The military strain between the two sides of the alliance built over the first decade and a half of the century, and came to a head when an Archduke from Austria Hungary was assassinated, followed by the German invasion of Holland and Belgium.
The Arabian war, which also involved the Ottoman Empire (Imperial Turkey, essentially, though it was most of the Middle East), may have had elements of freedom, and a number of colonies broke off from their mother/father countries during the turmoil. <I am ignorant about this part of WWI history; if others have more details or find an error, please correct me>
Schenck v. United States
1. Freedom from fear. 2. Freedom from want. 3. Freedom of speech. 4. Freedom to worship. These four freedoms were stated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in a message to Congress during the war. For more detail Google "4 freedoms"
They did that so we can have more freedom in America then they had and I cant believe people did not answer this already!!!!!
Answer this question… It allowed for much less individual freedom.
I don't think the idea of freedom had much to do with the US entry into World War I or World War II. The US declared war on Germany in 1917 after the sinking of the Lusitania, where a number of US citizens died. The US entered World War II after the Japanese attack on the military bases at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and the German and Italian governments declared war on the US the next day.
