Few would disagree that, hindsight is 20-20. With that said, after the second "American" revolution, the US Civil War, the US was a force for good in the world. There was little competition on that fact. The world was one of expansive colonial empire nations and despotic individual states.It continues to be a hostile world. US policies now or whenever one choses to look ( after the second American revolution ) can be fairly criticized, and the same with most any present day nation. But back to the original question, yes the American Revolution was a good "thing'.
