the only time the UK was a republic was in the 1600's with comwell as lord protector not president as head of state. The UK is currently a monarchy who's monarch Queen Elizabeth 2nd head of state of countries like UK Canada Australia South Africa and the carribean ect. this is know as the commonwealth and british overseas territories
