No. The Israelites were (and are) Semitic.
The Torah speaks of three branches of post-Flood mankind: Yefet (Jafeth), Ham, and Shem (the three sons of Noah; Genesis ch.10).
The children of Yefet are (broadly speaking) the Europeans (Caucasians).
The children of Ham include the ancient Egyptians, Canaanites, Nubians, Bantu (and sub-Saharan Africans in general), and many others.
The children of Shem include the ancient Assyrians, Elamites, Arameans, Lyddians, and other Semitic peoples. One group of Semites gave rise to the Arabs, Israelites, Moabites, Ammonites, Edumeans and others. See also:
Are Hebrews, Israelites and Jews the same people?
No. The Canaanites were descendants of Canaan, one of the sons of Ham (Genesis ch.10). The Jews are descendants of Shem (Genesis ch.11).
New Answer:
Yes the Jews are Canaanites from Judah and the Adullamite's daughter Bathshuah. Adullamites were Canaanites. See Genesis 38. Judah had three sons through Bathshuah - Er, Onan and Shelah. Er and Onan were struck down by The Lord for disobedience, but Shelah survived and married another Canaanitess - from this union came the Canaanite Jews. Canaanite Jews are Hamitic, not Semitic so therefore are not Israelites.
Judah also had twin sons from Tamar who was of Abraham's family - they were Pharez and Zarah. These sons were Israelite Judahites not Canaanite Jews. Pharez was the forefather of King David and Yashua Messiah plus British Royalty.
Biblical tradition says that the Canaanites were distinct from the Jewish and Israelite people. However, recent scholarship has established that the Hebrew people were not invaders but were actually rural Canaanites who migrated from the region of the rich coastal cities and settled peacefully in the hitherto sparsely populated hinterland.
Thus, Jews are Canaanites, at least by descent, but not all Canaanites were Jews.
No, they were a Hamitic people (Genesis ch.10).
Canaanites. The Jews
According to the Torah, the ancient Israelites conquered the Canaanites, but there is no mention of genocide. Some modern scholars theorize that there was no battle because the ancient Israelites WERE the Canaanites.
Philistines is the original habitation of The ancient Philistines (Canaanites) even before Biblical times.one of the earliest known civilizations was The land area of Palestine(the Land of Canaan).Philistines are the Canaanites whom they lived in Philistine before Biblical times. Philistines are Canaanites before they become Muslims or Christians & before God created Arab & jews.
The Canaanites (Though there is a school of thought that says the hebrews didn't fight the Canaanites, but that they WERE the canaanites.)
There were many more than 2 civiliations that gravely threatened the ancient jews. Most notably (in noparticular order): * The Egyptians * The Canaanites * The Phillistines * The Babylonians * The Persians * The Assyrian Greeks * The Romans
The Canaanites were a Semitic-speaking people who inhabited the ancient region of Canaan, which is roughly equivalent to present-day Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, and parts of Jordan and Syria. They were a diverse group of tribes and city-states with a shared culture and language.
the Jewish history was that they took land from canaanites and philistines they had one kingdom Solomon and David. After the kingdom was divided into Israel and Judah.Assyrians and Babilonians conquer kingdoms and exile Jews.End of the 6th century Persians conquer Babalyon, they allowed the return of the Jews who rebuilt the temple in Jerusalem.

The Canaanites were descendants of Canaan. Canaan was the son of Ham. Ham was the son of Noah.
It depends on how far back you wish to go. The earliest archaeology dates settlements near the city of Haifa from 100,000 years ago. It then passed hands to early tribe, Proto-Canaanites, Canaanites, Israelites, Philistines, Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Macedonian Greeks, Egyptian Greeks, Syrian Greeks, Hasmonean Jews, Romans, Byzantines, several different Arab Caliphates and Turkish Empires, Crusader States, the Ottomans, the Britons, and finally Israel and modern Arab States.
