Were the three gifts of the Magi supposed to reveal Christ's divinity?

Devout Jews regard "leaders of the people" as "appointed by God"... which may infer an attribute of divinity.
"...'Teacher... we all know that GOD HAS SENTYOU to teach us..." (John 3:2 NLT New Living Translation).
But the astrologers who sought the whereabouts of the "...newborn KING of the Jews..." [Matt.2:2] were looking for ROYALTY!
They were looking for the One "APPOINTED BY GOD" who was to fulfill their prophecies [as they all appeared to be coming together at that time] who was to oust the "4th Beast of Daniel" [which is seen as the Roman Empire, extant in that day; see Daniel 7]... smash it to pieces... and head up the NEW GOVERNMENT of ISRAEL:
"...the Government will rest ON HIS SHOULDERS. These will be His ROYALtitles..." (Isa.9:6 NLT).
"...His ever-expanding Government will never end. He will rule forever with Fairness and Justice from the THRONE of His father David. The passionate commitment of the LORD Almighty will guarantee this!" (verse 7)
The astrologers [being loyal subjects of their King] brought to the "house" of Jesus' parents [Matt.2:11], quite possibly as many as two years after His birth... merely "acceptable gifts" - offerings - that people everywhere carried into the presence of KINGS! They did not go in "empty-handed."
They weren't trying to reveal anything to anyone. God was revealing Himself to THEM!
"...We have seen His star as it arose..." (Matt.2:2 NLT).
[WEY] Weymouth's New Testament: "...For we have seen His Star in the east, and have come to DO HIM HOMAGE."
"...this is what the prophet wrote: 'O Bethlehem of Judah... a RULER will come from you who will be the SHEPHERD FOR MY PEOPLE Israel.'" (verses 5-6 & Micah 5:2)
The "Magi" were looking for "God's prophetically appointed KING!" Who, after years of searching, was finally "revealed to them."
