They were brightly colored clothing normally made in silk. They only wear them to special occasions though. In everyday life they normally wear Western style clothing. Like many other parts of Southeast Asia, the Thai traditional costumes have variations in the various regions - North, Northeast, Central and South, but there are unifying elements like the use of an ankle-length wrap skirt called phasin by the women and the sabai or shoulder cloth that is worn with the blouse. The traditional shirt for men is the mohom, sometimes called farmer's shirt that is fitted to the waist by a rectangular checkerboard cloth called pakama in the Northeast. The shirt is paired with the sador or loose pants. More or less the same pattern of costumes can be seen among the peasants not only of Thailand, but also in Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

∙ 12y agoAs a guest to a Thai Weddings you should wear conservative dress that being for women. It should cover ones shoulders and be able to sit comfortably in. It should not be Black in colour so that simple Black dress should not be worn. As Black is the colour for funerals in Thai culture.
