Lunges are really good. They do your thighs and your calves. Also if you lie on your side and slowly lift one leg up that does your thighs. Running is a great exercise to but if u really want to lose weight its all about your eating. No bread cakes or any packed cereal is the way. Although, you can pretty much eat anything as long as its not too much of it!
Some kind of cardio atleast 4 times a week. Can include dancing, swimming, running (NOT on cemented road or treadmill), any outdoor sports. You can join a gym if you enjoy spending money.

Cut back on eating junk. Set the limit of not more than twice a month or something like that. Includes chips, samosa, fried indian snacks, packaged namkeen, buger, Pizza, outside food etc.
Stop eating before you start feeling full. Make sure your meal plate consists of atleast 80% vegetables and pulses. Bowl full of spicy, oily gravy does NOT count as vegetables intake. Vegetables fried till death at home to tickle the taste buds is no better than outside junk food.
No meals after 7pm. Get enough sleep and walk away from things, people and job which cause unending stress.
