King Midas was a foolish king. He came across a little man asleep in his garden.it turned out to be a servant of god Dionysus so as Midas was cunning looked after the man and treated him as a king. After he returned the man to Dionysus and as a reward for treating his servant so well he was granted one wish . Midas wished that everything he touched would turn to gold. From then on, he was unable to sleep and unable to eat. He eventually turned his daughter to gold. He went to ask for the wish to be returned and Dionysus asked him to go and wash in a river and the gold will float away......
When Dionysus tells Midas that if he washes his hands under water, everything that he turned into gold would turn back to normal. The curse would go away too.
King Midas, king of Pessinus in Phrygia. King Midas. He was given the golden touch by Dionysus because that is what he wished for. When he realized what a mistake it was, he had to beg him to take it back and make everything back to the way it was.
Midas was the son of Cybele and Gordius; no other children of Gordius are known, however, Cybele was strongly identified with the androgyny Agdistis who possessing male and female organs was feared by the other deities. Who then castrated Agdistis; from the blood grew a almond tree, which either produced the boy child Attis by itself or when Nana, daughter of the river-god Sangarius, was gathering the fruit of this tree, she put some almonds (or, in some accounts, a pomegranate) into her bosom; but here the almonds disappeared, and she became pregnant with Attis who was consort and beloved by Cybele/Agdistis. This would make Midas the brother of Attis as well Korybas by Iasion (first of the Korybantes) Sabazios (equivalent to Dionysus) Would also be sons of Cybele and brothers of Midas. Of daughters of Cybele I can find only two: Alke-Kybele (by Olympus) Nicaea was his sister by Cybele and the river god Sangarius.
Down below the deck was very tight and there was no space to move, AT ALL. So slaves would soil themselves.

Midas was a guy who had the ability to touch anything and it would immediately turn into gold so saying you have the Midas touch means whatever you do becomes good.
That would be Midas.

With arrogance touched by ignorance, in that Midas did not heed Dionysus advice and Dionysus did not warn Midas outright that his touch of gold would affect food, water and living beings as well as things he wanted turned to gold.
That would be King Midas.

Midas's daughter did not die in the myths; Midas has asked for the boon of the golden touch from Dionysus and when he found his food turned to gold he asked it back and was instructed by Dionysus on how to do so. The daughter dying is a modern hype.
