In recent years he is famous for serving an eight year term as the 43rd President of the United States of America. He is famous for liberating Iraq and it's millions of citizens from Saddam Hussain. ∙ 6y agoGeorge W. Bush was the 43rd US President from 2001 January 20 to 2009 January 20. He famously was in office when the September 11, 2001 attacks happened. He then started the second US - Iraq War and the war in Afghanistan that is still going on now. He was also famous for his way of speaking, popularizing the terms "War of Terror", and the "Axis of Evil".
