After WW1, the American people were glad it was over but wanted vindication and to abandon war from all affairs and go back to an "isolationism" that way they wouldn't have to worry about other nations and meddling in their affairs.
After World War 1, prevalent attitudes in America included one of not supporting the US being involved in foreign affairs. World War 1 started in 194 and ended in 1918. After the First World War, isolationism became prevalent in American society. Another attitude that developed was nativism.
IM A 6TH GRADER BUT I USED BE A HUGE HISTORY FREAK ... AS FAR AS I KNOW AFTER WW1 THE US AND THE WAORLD THOUTH THAT WORLD WAR 1 WAS THE WAR TO END ALL WARS THEY THAOUGT WAR WAS NOT GOIMG TO HAPPEN AGIN UNTILL THE ALLIED NATIONS IN THE LATE 40S SAW AN UP RISEING IN CENTRAL Europe WHEN CHEKO SEVECIA WAS ATAKED BY THE GERMANS BRITON SENT A REPRZENTITIVE TO SIGN A PEACE TREATY WITH HITLER HE AGRED TO MAKE PEACE BUT A MONTH LATER HE ATTAKED Poland EUROPEAN NATIONS WENT TO WAR BUT THE us STAYED BACK UNTILL THE JAPS HIT PEARL HARBOR AFTER ww2 THE UNITED STATES KEP THEIR GUARD UP SO MUCH THAT IT STARTED A COLD WAR After World War 1 the US tried to be isolationist, tending to its own business and not taking part in world affairs. After World War 2 the US was the only nuclear-armed country, and seems to have been more willing to involve itself with the world. However, the US was reluctant to upset the balance of power between itself and the USSR, especially after the secret of the atomic bomb was swiped in 1948. In both world wars it might be noted that the US suffered much less in comparison with other countries on the winning side, and emerged richer from both of them.
