The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM - or FM for postal and governmental purposes) are a series of over 600 islands/atolls in the Pacific Ocean north of Australia. The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) are the island states of Chuuk, Kosrei, Pohnpei & Yap.

The independent nation of the Federated States of Micronesia came under U.S. administration as a result of the division of territory by the UN after World War II.
