Less TV/Media Coverage; Less sponsorship; Less prize money (improving in tennis) Fewer professional sports; Stereotypical attitudes towards women participating in less 'feminine' sports (still); Fewer events at the Olympics (look up Victoria Pendleton compared to Chris Hoy); Cultural 'norms' restricting dress and choice of sports; Private members clubs restricting women's access e.g. to Golf clubs, or by assigning 'Tee' times to women midweek rather than at weekends. Fewer women in leadership roles in sport (see IOC & International Federations). Zero (in UK) female sports editors in newspapers. Therefore fewer role models for increasing participation at grass roots levels.
