You ask to much for even the best of tour guides and you should order several of the excellent New Mexico and Santa Fe guides that are available from the state at no cost. Santa Fe's artist colony is a major draw and the dining and accomodations are a draw in their own right. Here are just a few basics:
I suggest Santa Fe if you want lots of history, culture, fun, and food. There are many museums and galleries there, and there's the famous Santa Fe Opera. The food is amazing, too. Other than Santa Fe, there's also Albuquerque, which is a bigger city, Taos, and Roswell. There are also many other little towns in New Mexico that are fun to visit!
