What are some of the darker side associated with globalization?

First, let's consider the Great Depression. The only countries that were not hit heavily by the Stock Market crash on Black Tuesday, October 29, 1929 were the nations that were not associated with capitalists (communist Russia) and the nations that were not globally associated with any other nation. To those that were, the effects were devastating. Next, let's consider labor. Wal-mart is such a huge power house that it's spread globally. Many of the products sold in Wal-mart are manufactured in ill-conditioned Chinese sweatshops. This is because with globalization, there comes huge corporations such as Wal-mart, and with huge corporations like Wal-mart comes a need for cheap labor. Next, consider the "swine-flu" pandemic. Diseases can travel much more easily between nations because of globalization. However, this is not like the 13th century when the plague could not be squashed by fear alone. Today, we take exceedingly careful measures to eradicate such an epidemic, and for the most part we're successful. Finally, disruption in the balance of powers comes with globalization. There will probably never be a completely equal scale in which all countries are just, or nearly as powerful as other countries because there simply are not enough resources nor would other nations let that be so. Thus, there will always be superpowers. Those superpowers will act as playground bullies picking on the weaker nations. This is called Imperialism.
