Christian Answer

Judaism started many thousand years ago in the Middle East. They were once the Israelites, and many of them still live in Israel. They are still considered God's people, even by Christians. Unlike Christians, Jews do not believe that Jesus was a messiah or prophet. They do not accept any part of the Christian Bible (Old and New Testaments). But Messianic Jews are a group of Christians that have come to the realization that Jesus was in fact the Christ, but attempt to incorporate Jewish customs into their worship.

Christianity started out as Judaism in the middle east a very long time ago. Once the Messiah, JESUS, came to earth and died on the cross for our sins, many became Christians. Because Jesus died on the cross, we no longer need to sacrifice for our sins. Because Jesus was God's son, he was perfect, and sinless. So Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. He knew that his reason to live was to spread the word and heal, but he also knew his ultimate reason for living on earth was to die for us and be risen. For God so loved the world he gave his one and only Son, and whoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Jewish Answer

The Jewish Bible is called the Tanach. The word Tanach is an acronym representing its three sections: Torah (Teachings), Nevi'im (Prophets), K'tuvim (Writings). The Christian Old Testament was based on the Tanach but was altered to support the teachings of Christianity.

The goal of Judaism is to help HaShem (The Creator) in the completion of creation by making the world as good as possible through our actions. There is no concept of salvation as found in Christianity as Judaism teaches that all humans are born good and innocent, we do not accept the concept of original sin. Neither do we believe in the existence of the devil or the idea of eternal damnation.

The word 'messiah' is the anglicisation of the Hebrew 'moshiach'. The word moshiach translates to 'anointed'. The title of moshiach was given to any person who was appropriately anointed with oil as part of their initiation to their service of HaShem. We have had many moshiachim (pl) in the form of kings, priests, prophets, and judges. There is absolutely nothing supernatural about a moshiach. There is a prophecy about a future moshiach, however, he'll be a mortal man who will lead the country of Israel. The idea of human sacrifice is an abomination according to Judaism and it is not possible to atone for mistakes not yet committed or for one person to atone for another person's mistakes,

The "Messianic Jewish" movement was actually started by Christian groups as a way to convert Jews to Christianity. In reality, the majority of people who refer to themselves as Messianics have no Jewish heritage whatsoever. It is also important to note that the majority of Jews did not convert to Christianity and the majority of Christians have no Jewish lineage (or minimal Jewish lineage).

Moslem Answer

Islam is interpretation of the series revelations given by God to his Final Prophet, Mohammed. The Prophets that came before the Final Prophet had received divine revelation and had given it to the various nations across the world. Islam claims that there are thousands of these prophets and the ones it lists by name include many of the characters from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Of the Prophets who came prior to the Final Prophet, the most important were Ibrahim (Abraham), Noh (Noah), Musa (Moses), and Isa (Jesus).

The Final Prophet's message was about the unity of the tradition and its binding call on all of humanity to acknowledge and revere the One God. (Allah is merely the word God in Arabic and is not a particular name for him unlike Jehovah for some Christians which is a particular name for God.) Mohammed brought about the Five Pillars of Islam: Faith (Ash-Shahada), Prayer (As-Salat), Righteous Donation (Az-Zakat), Pilgrimage to Mecca (Al-Hajj), and Fasting during Ramadan (Sawm Ramadan).

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

[2:136]

Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered.

Christianity, Judaism and Islam are all monotheism - meaning believe in (one God) only

Christianity and Islam believe that at prophets such as Jesus, Moses, Joseph, Solomon, Muhammed are among many prophets send by god to guide mankind towards the right path.

Christianity believes Jesus to be son of god and believs that he was crusified for sin of mankind that's is why is known as savior to mankind. Neither Judaism or Islam believes this.

Islam - Islam has been around since the time of Adam. Prophet Muhammed basically revived this religion by reminding mankind of their duties to their lord (i.e pray to their lord, believe in one god and do not associate anyone with him, pay poor rate (tax) AKA charity) Quran, the holy book of Muslims states stories of previous prophet such as Jesus, Moses, Joseph, Solomon and many others .. Quran itself is a guide to mankind that was reveled to Prophet Muhammad. Muslims believes in all prophets including Jesus and moses ;however, god in Quran has said that Jesus was not crucified, instead he was raised by god in to the heaven. Jesus will return to the earth and live his life before the judgment day comes. Allah (god) has said, Jesus is not his son, but a miracle born of a virgin mother just as Adam was created without a father or a mother. Jesus was a prophet just like Moses and Muhammed. Muslims have faith in Gospel, Torah, Bible & Quran. Because changes has been made to Bible and other books (except Quran) these books and their teachings are not considered authentic in Islam. Quran, on the other hand has not been changed ever since it was revealed to prophet Muhammed (you can go anywhere in the world, and pick of copy of quran and you will see they're all the same word-to-word, line-to-line and chapter-to-chapter). Quran is the latest and the last book sent by god to the last prophet Muhammed to guide the mankind.

The central belief of these three religions is that there is one God (monotheism), and that people should live with respect for one another. The idea that faith can help people in times of crisis or need is also central to these three religions.

Unfortunately, there are wars and other evil acts perpetrated in the name of religion (any/all religions). This relates to the fallability of humans, themselves, not necessarily the faiths they attempt to practice.

The old city of Jerusalem is sacred to what 3 religions?

Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Though Islam doesn't view Jerusalem in the same manner as Judaism or Christianity. For Judaism and Christianity, Jerusalem is place of the world's foundation and the city where G-d's presence once rested. Islam's holy city is actually Mecca, in Saudi Arabia. Islam's claim to Jerusalem is political, not religious (or at least not at all in the way Christians and Jews view Jerusalem).
