for a school project i have to act as sacagawea this is my speech. everything i did was for my people. I didn't just do everything for myself. You probably recognized the quote i am sacagawea i was an interpreter for the lewis and clark expedition. But how i got there is whole nother story it all started when i was born no one knows for sure when i was born but people think it was somewhere around may 1778, i lived in what's now idaho i was part of the shoshone tribe it was hard to find food i was a gatherer sometimes we had to eat grasshoppers, and when i was 12 years old i got kidnapped, sold traded, and gambled for by a guy named toussaint charbonneau and finally i was settled in bismarck North Dakota working as a servant for him. One day he wanted to get married i had no choice i was his servant. One day i got invited to the expedition with lewis and clark i traveled to st louis to meet them and then we started our journey to the Pacific Ocean on the way there i realized that i was pregnant! But still i traveled on foot and boat for more than 26,000 miles i had my baby on the way because it took us over a year to reach the pacific ocean. But the only thing that us three couldn't do was find a possible route from the pacific to the Missouri river. Six years after the expedition i had a little girl. I died december 20, 1812 and clark legally adopted my children. Some describe me as heroic, some say brave, some smart, courageous, loving, wise, great, beautiful, i just describe myself as a part of history.
