A lot of Saudi Oil Money goes directly to the royalty themselves who use the money for personal expenses. As a result they have numerous palaces, properties in hundreds of cities (both inside and outside of their countries) for vacations, bet large sums of money in sporting events (most commonly horse-racing), and generally live lives that would make Donald Trump envious. Another portion of Saudi oil wealth goes to support Wahhabi Islam and its outreach organizations. The only reason why Wahhabi Islam has become so popular outside of Saudi Arabia is because of this funding and, as many Muslim will tell you, Wahhabi Islam is corrupting and regressing values to the way they were nearly 1000 years ago across the Muslim world. The remainder of oil wealth goes towards maintaining the Saudi State in terms of supporting the police, soldiers, infrastructure, and cities for foreign oil workers in Saudi Arabia.
