Generally when the bearing is starting to go it will be noisy and you can change the pitch of the noise by steering the car slightly left to right while driving at 50 mph.If there is no noise then get a second opinion but don't continue to drive it without having this checked out.
Although there is a snap ring retaining the bearing, you will need to take the strut to a mechanic and have the bearing pressed out. If you take out the three bolts on the top of the strut tower, and disconnect the ball joint at the bottom, you won't have to worry about throwing the alignment out.

I have that problem right now. What I did was ascertain through hearing and feel that it was one of the front bearings. As a general rule--you never replace just one bearing. Either the two front or the two rear. Short of actually removing each bearing, this is your only option--unless you want to pay the bucks for a crackerjack mechanic; and if you do take bearings out--you never replace with the same old bearing--always new. Bad wheel bearings usually make noise. Try to listed to where the noise comes from.
If automatic, change fluid and filter. If manual, need clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. If none of these work then, you are in for a real treat moneywise.
if the bearing will not stay in, the housing is worn.this can be repaired by using a new bearing with a speedy sleeve. u will need to go to a bearing supplier to get this. a good mechanic will know what it is, but an average mechanic will have no clue. also heavy equipment mechanic will know what it is
If it is the front bearing: Take it to a mechanic. The bearing in pressed into the spindle. A press is required to remove the old bearing and install the new one.

First, be aware that this could be a very dangerous situation. While it is impossible to diagnose the problem from such little information, there is a fair chance that you have a faulty wheel bearing. Please have a mechanic check your car right away.
