There is usually a air tube that goes from the filter to the engine. The Mass Air Flow is usually at the engine side of this tube. In between can have several can have up to several fresh air hoses for the crankcase or valve cover. Also there is usually a IAT (Incoming Air Temp Sensor). This is usually held in the hose by a rubber grommet. This is usually what is there. I hope this helps, Brad.
