In Indian Classical Music, shuddha swaras are the basic or natural notes without any alteration. There are seven shuddha swaras: Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, and Ni. These form the fundamental building blocks of melodies in Indian classical music.

It lies in the talent of the music director. When a music is composed in a particular raaga...say for example In the movie "sankarabaranam" for the song "saamajavaragamanaa" is based on the raagam "hindolam" which goes the way Sa ga ma dha ni sa (arohanam) / sa ni dha ma ga sa (avarohanam). If you carefully listen to the swaras there would not be any swara with the note "pa". But the heroine thinks of her man love and mistakenly sings the note "pa". Also in the movie Annamacharya (nagarjuna ) the song "nigama nigamanthavar" if you carefully watch the swaras used... it goes like this sa ga ma ga ma dha ma dha ni dha ni sa ma ga dha ni sa ma ga sa...vividha virbhandamula...twine twine..;-)
Saptak means "gamut" or "the series of seven notes". It denotes the set of swaras, Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni which comprise a musical scale in Indian classical music.
true: सत् sat; सत्य satya; यथार्थ yathaartha; वास्तव vaastava; शुद्ध shuddha.
Jathiswaram is a song consisting of only swaras(notes) and jathis(complex beats) to which the dancer dances while having no abhinaya, or expression. It shows how versatile the dancer is, and her capabilities. It is differenf from other dances in that other dances involve abhinaya, and tell a story through facial expressions, and how the body moves to the music to narrate the story. Jathiswaram does not do this.
This is a Odissi dance recital, mainly the Devdasi traditional dance, with Pallavi..The mukhra starts with Raag Pilu..Then the music transcends into ga pa dha ni..almost like kalavati..Then "saathi re saathi re"..also in that flavour.but after that--the male voice ma ga sa ni dha ni sa ga ma...Reminds me of Rageshree..So-madam,it is a fantastic and intelligent blending of quite a few raginis..mostly pivotal in the two swaras..Komol nishad and shudh gandhar..When ever it is coming back to komol gandhar,it smells Pilu again..Thanks..

Kalyani is an Indian melodic scale. The notes coming in the raga Kalyani are S R2 G3 M2 P D2 N3, or they are called as Shadja, Chatu: sruthi rishabha[teevra], Andhara gandhara[teevra],Prati Madhyama[ teevra],Panchama, Chatu:Sruthi Dhaiwatha[teevra] and Kakali Nishada [teevra]. And for the western muscians,; if the tonic note or the key is C, the notes would be C,D,E,F#,G,A,B . In the Indian music style, each notes have oscillations , that may vary according to the phrases they are in, so playing the straight notes can't make the real melody of Kalyani I hope you understood! thank you Amal Antony [playback singer]
