Not everyone experiences symptoms when stopping Strattera. Those who do have symptoms may have headaches, irritability, fatigue, and depression. The symptoms don't usually last a long time, but may appear for a week or two while the body adjusts to the change.

You should Google Straterra and you'll find a wealth of information. However, I can share my experience with the drug. I am a 45 year old female who was recently diagnosed and have been gradually increasing my dosage for a couple of months. The side effects I have experienced include jitters and sudden sweats like hot flashes, both of which gradually disappeared as my body adjusted to the higher dosages, dry mouth, managable constipation, lethargy and loss of appetite, but unfortunately no weight loss. I sleep better at night and awake early feeling well rested.

From a medical standpoint:

Some of the more common side effects include:

Increased blood pressure

Change in heart rhythm

Weight loss

Abdominal pain

Constipation

Nausea & Vomiting

Headache

Insomnia

Erectile Dysfunction (adults)

Difficulty urinating

The majority of which are more common in pediatrics than in adults. Even though there are several potential side effects, Strattera is thought to be much safer than the other ADHD medications that are on the market now.

The Black Box Warning that goes with Strattera goes as follows: There is an increased risk of suicidal ideation in children and adolescents. No suicides occurred in clinical trials. Monitor patients closely for suicidal thinking and behavior, clinical worsening, or unusual changes in behavior.

I have ADHD and I took Straterra at a point, it made me feel suicidal, made every tiny thing seem to be just another reason I should kill myself, that stage in my life is something I will hope to never be back to.

A lethargic, unmotivated and gray almost sadness, at least for me

Ritalin (methylphenidate) is a stimulant similar to amphetamines or cocaine. Withdrawal symptoms (this is NOT to be confused with addiction) can include depression, reduced affect, apathy, lethargy, hypersomnia, miosis (pin point pupil), muscle pain, headaches, agitation, and polyphagia (excessive hunger).

Although uncommon people may have hallucinations, severe depression, suicidal thoughts, and even suicide attempt or completion. Normally these occur only in people taking high doses, especially in people abusing the drug.

Answer:

The most common Adderal withdrawal symptoms are depression and drowsiness. You may feel less focused and perhaps more hyper. You may also feel an increased appetite.

Although more severely, you may experince psychosis, paranoia, anxiety/panicking, bipolar-like symptoms, or suicidal thoughts.

I think it is important to talk with your doctor about any withdrawal symptoms you are experiencing, and perhaps find ways to alleviate the symptoms.

Everywhere I have looked, it says moodiness and fatigue-which I can assure you is true.
