Catholics'Muslims,Christians',and Jews' are all the same exept a Muslim also worships'more than God they also worship Muhamed a great leader.Jews'are like Catholic's and Christians;exept Jews' dont' believe in the new testement that is about Jesus Christ. The only small differwnce between Christians'and Catholics'are that Catholics'not alone pray to god but they also pray to Marie for giving birth to Jesus Christ
Differences are huge. Catholics believe in Jesus, and Muslims do not. Catholics believe in the Old and New Testament, and Muslims believe in the Quoran. There is argument to be made that they came from the same culture thousands of years ago, but both have evolved to the point that they are very different.

Catholics and Muslims are similar because they both pray every day to God.

Another similarity is that Catholics fast during lent and Muslims fast during Ramadan.

.

AnswerWith all due respect for the above answer, the similarity between canaries and people is that they both breath and eat, etc.; but that really doesn't say much about them. Suffice to say that they are both religions, that would be were the similarity ends. Catholics were created by God, Incarnate as Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, who came to fulfill the prophecies of the Mosaic religion. Islam (Muslims) was created by Mohammed who grafted Abrahamic religion (the Old Testament) and made up a new religion based on submission to Allah.

Yes, Muslims and Catholics have many things in common in their religious beliefs. Some of these are:

  • They both believe in the oneness of God (Although the Catholics believe in God Trinity that Muslims do not believe in).
  • They both believe in God Angels.
  • They both believe in the other eternal life.
  • They both believe in the Day of Judgment.
  • They both believe in the Paradise and Hell.
  • They both believe that God is the Creator.
  • They both believe in the same morals of life (not to kill, not to cheat, not to steal, not to hurt the neighbor, not to do sex without marriage, not to spoil nature, to be forgivable, to merciful to animals, ..., etc)
However, the main big difference in the two beliefs is that about the Divinity of Jesus. Muslims believe that Jesus is one of the five God greatest prophets and messengers. They don't believe that Jesus is God or Son of God (see related question below for more information).

Some Catholics believe even in Quran as God Holy Book and believe in Mohamed as God prophet although not converting to Islam. On those, Quran says (with meaning English translation):
" There are, certainly, among the People of the Book (Jewish and Christians) those who believe in Allah (God), in the revelation to you (Quran), and in the revelation to them (Torah and Bible), bowing in humility to Allah (God): they do not sell the verses of God for a little price, for them is a reward with their Lord"

(Quran, chapter 3, verse 199)

and says:

"... when they (Christians) listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger Mohamed, you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognized. They say: Our Lord we believe so write us down among the witness.....So because of what they said, Allah rewarded them Gardens in Paradise... such is the reward of good-doers"

(Quran, Chapter 5, verses 83-85)

Roman Catholic AnswerThey both believe in God, and in His Son, Jesus Christ. They both believe that Jesus came to save us from our sins and to offer us eternal happiness in heaven. They both believe that your life should be different now that you believe and that you should live according to Christian principles. That you should love the Lord your God above every other thing and that you should love your neighbor as you love your very self. They both believe that anyone looking at you, at how you think, how you talk, and how you act, should know that you are a Christian. And they both fail again and again, but trust in the infinite mercy of God to support them; and believing in His love and support, they haul themselves up and try again.

Yes they are similar in the sense that they have only one God, and do not allow idol worship. And Abraham is the father of both of them.
