Japanese Americans are cast in the unfortunate situation of being neglected and forgotten by their mother country, while Chinese Americans are burdened with the task of strengthening the tarnished image of their homeland.
Us Japanese Americans culture is a lilttle bit different than Chinese Americans. Many of my Chinese American friends that go to the same church as i do taught me alot of stuff. They have more i guess respect towards others and really cautious about stuff just like Japanese Americans. So we are very similar so its very hard to find cutural experiences. They are pretty much the same experiences. But, kids who have been to some parts of China still know about the only 1 child per family rule. The government used to kill the 1 of somebodys child if they had 2 or more. Hope this helps :D
I've never heard of a Chinese geisha. It's a Japanese word, and traditionally a Japanese profession.

One of the most significant similarities is the parents' goal for their kids. Both Chinese and Japanese Americans want their kids to do their best and get not only straight A's but do well in other activities as well. There isn't much difference between the two.

"Teriyaki" is a Japanese word, and in approximation, would equate to 照燒 (based on cultural/language influences between Chinese and Japanese)
