better go to and buy yourself a haynes manual on your truck.there about 20 to 30 bucks and all your info will be in there.to put on here in detailed fashion wold take quite along time
There is NO adjustment, You must replace the clutch set to bring the pedal back to the right position. You also need to make sure the clutch slave cylinder/ master cylinder is good before replacing clutch assy.
You will need to remove the transmission to replace the clutch slave.
Up and to the left of the clutch on the firewall.

when the clutch releases at the very top, that usually indicates that the clutch needs replacing. the clutch may just need adjustment. one more thing, the clutch on Chevy s-10's usually release high anyway.
Perhaps slave cylinder, line or fitting leaking?
There are several videos online that visually illustrate the process of replacing the clutch pedal assembly on Chevy pickups, including the 2000 c1500. Most of them include a combination of unscrewing the push rod and unplugging the wire connection to the clutch interlock.
