I have read many books about oldest nations and countries.

I can strongly state my option and I think that the oldest nationS according to "first map in the world" made in Babylon (just Google Babylon map if you don't belive) suggest that following countries are one of the first in Mesopotamia.

1. BABYLON (as a country)

2. ASSYRIA (now Iran)

3.HABBAN (now Yemen)

4.ARMENIA (now Armenia)

5.Dery (no one knows what is this)

6.BIT JAKINU (no any idea)

and there are 7 islands in map.

This tells just Mesopotamia's countries - not in the world.

It is impossible to compare this list above with China , India or Egypt ad there are no any evidence that these countries are first , because the people who made that map had no idea about rest of the world so maybe they missed out other countries. HOWEVER this map is recognised as first known map ever made.

Hope this helps
