do you mean the cylinder head or the timing gears that mount on the cams .
There are no torque specs on 350 Chevy engines. Set solid lifter cams with cam manufacturers backlash specifications, set hydraulic lifter cams with 0 backlash plus 1/4-3/4 turns preload. To my knowledge you don't torque valves, you adjust them. Each one must be done individually.
Depends what motor. 240SX had the SAME EXACT block with very little differances. Many Hardbody owners switch to the 240sx Intakes and cam. The transmissions however have different ratios. The cams are different too. The "Car" cams had more HP and less torque then the "truck" cams. The "Truck" cams maxed torque a full 1000 rpms sooner too.
vtech is having 2 cams one for low end torque then switches to the other for high end torque vtech is having 2 cams one for low end torque then switches to the other for high end torque

if you unplug the knock sensor and run it and it clears up then change the knock sensor if it doesn't check cam caps for torque specs and lifters if it set up for awhile
depends on the cam. maybe 5. maybe 50+ depends on what your gonna use it to. Personally i like towing cams because it gives you tons of torque

i need to know what torque the head bolts down on my 1996 Monte Carlo cause i just got done doing a head gasgets on and i need to also need to now what to torque the rockers thank u for your help The rockers are done with the engine running. Turn till they stop clattering and back off a quarter turn for hydraulic cams. Solid cams will have a lash setting on the cam card. have found that for initial startup lash all the rockers at .020 with the lifter at the base of the cam and this will help start the engine and keep it running while you finish the adjustment
i recommend getting a Chilton repair manual cause you have to mark the cams and make sure they go back in the same spot and take cam caps off and mark them and put them back exact way they came off there is more to it but its not hard and book will give you torque specs
You get to take pictures of various things.
