Have a parent teacher conference with the principle as soon as you can. If the teacher did this publicly, it can damage your child's reputation in school and cause other kids to bully him/her. In regards to a lawsuit allegations such as slander, defamation of character, and so on and so forth are very difficult to substaniate even with credible witnesses. Not being versant in that type of civil litigation it is strictly a personal observation. Parents should always defend and uphold the rights of their children regardless of whether litigation issues prove valid or not.
