Poland
While most of the Allies in Europe declared war on Germany when they attacked Poland, the two main powers were, England, and France.
They were attacked by the Axis Powers
The Germans occupied it and the Allies attacked it.
Approximately 10,000 soldiers died. The liberation of France.
D DAY was the day the allies went to recapture france the battle following Dieppe In World War 2 in comparisson to WW1 in a sense dieppe was like the battle of the sommes and dday was like the battle of vimy ridge. Dieppe was a failure and the lessons learned lead to the success of Dday. Dday played an important part in the allies fate because the allies recaptured france who had fell to russia only 6 weeks into war. this marked the last battle in europe in ww2.
I think they attacked Omaha Beach because the Allies think that's the only way they could push through Europe and into German soil to end the war machine, the Axis. ^^^^^^^^^ HE IS WRONG There wer actually 5 beaches: Ohmaha, Utah, Sword, Juno, & Gold. These were all attacked in The Allies desperate hope to turn the war around, which was actually an unexpected victory for The Allies.
The U.S. attacked Omaha and Utah beach. The British forces attacked Gold and Sword beach. The Canadians attacked Juno beach with the assistance of the British.
On D-Day the Allies attacked Normandy, France.
Dday began the Allies' push into mainland Europe, which eventually led to the capitulation of the Third Reich in Germany
the thing that occurred on DDay was one of the very invasions on Omaha beach, Utah beach, Sword beach it involved the U.S army invading the beaches and the British a Lot of men died
The importance of D-Day in World War II, was that the Allied forces were able to gain a foothold on Normandy, France. From this beach-head, the Allies would eventually (with a great loss of life and several setbacks) eventually bring the war in Europe to an end with Germany's defeat.
