We don't have "the following", so we can't answer this question very well, but the reason the Mormon pioneers had to leave their previous homes in New York, Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois is because they were kicked out or forced to leave due to extreme persecution. The reason why they moved to Utah is because God lead them there, Joseph Smith had prophesied they would have to move to the Rocky Mountains, and they wanted to go to a land that nobody else wanted so that they wouldn't risk having large groups of people move in and repeat the persecution they had faced elsewhere.

Why did the Mormons leave New York and eventually settle in Salt Lake City Utah?

In short, the purpose of emmigrating was to find a safe place to practice their religion. The Latter-day Saints (Mormons) were subject to a great deal of persecution, and even mob attacks and murders, wherever they settled -- initially in New York, then Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois. The governor of Missouri even issued an extermination order authorizing the murder of Mormons in the state. After the murder of their prophet and president in 1844, the Mormons emigrated along the Mormon Trail to the valley of the Great Salt Lake, which was mostly uninhabited by anyone, and began to settle the territory there.
