What can I do since my sister-in-law is still friends with my husbands ex?

Opinion That can create a sticky situation. What is the relationship like between you and your husband and his ex wife? How is your sister-in-law toward you? Is she thoughtful and considerate of your feelings? Initially I say that as an adult, your sister-in-law can choose her friends without anyone's approval. But, as an adult she should be responsible in her decisions and be thoughtful and mindful of the complexities that her friendship creates.

You should discuss the situation with your sister in law. You haven't mentioned if there are children involved and whether a problem has been created by her being invited to family gatherings. Also, the feelings about each other between all the parties have not been defined.
If your sister in law has simply maintained a friendship with her former sister in law then that should not be a problem. A divorce need not affect every member of an expended family. That would be childish. If there were particularly hard feelings between the divorced parties then your husband should be the one invited to family parties. His ex wife is no longer part of the family.
