2.5 liter engine is smaller and more fuel efficient. 3.5 liter engine is a strong engine with better acceleration, but is less fuel efficient
1.6 Liter engine is 4.4 quarts, 2.0 Liter engine is 5.5 quarts, 2.5 Liter engine is 5.8 quarts. Add more as needed when changing filter.
usually the liter count is the cc of an engine. example-- a 1.6 liter engine would be 1600 cc's ( more or less) 1.8 liter= 1800 cc, ect, ect...

Take it to a mechanic. Easy, simple, costs a little more, but it gets done right.
If you're having it done at the shop, it shouldn't be more than about $30. If you're doing it yourself, it will be just the cost of 4 quarts of oil (5 quarts in the 2.2L OHC engine) and a new filter.
You should not tow more than 2,000 pounds in a 1988 Jeep Wrangler. This is considering the engine is a 4.2 liter engine.

Hi First off, more info is needed. Is your sunfire equipped with a 2.2 or 2.4 engine. If it is a 2.2 the water pump is driven by the serpentine belt and a fairly easy job, But if your sunfire has the 2.4 engine, the job will be very labour intensive. The pump on the 2.4 is driven by the timing chain, so the timing chain cover will need to come off, the timing chain comes off. This does not mention unbolting the pump of the back of the engine block. That is even more work. Good Luck
its mainly build quality and engine output. a 1940s car with a 2 liter engine might have had 50bhp where as a 1980s car with a 2 liter engine might have had 80 to 90bhp. also later cars have more safety features and are far more reliable.
Car engine sizes are expressed as the volume of their cylinders. Thus a 2 Liter car would have an engine with a cylinder volume of 2 liters. This would be more powerful than a 1.5 liter car. However there is a complication, if the car has a turbo charger then more power can be obtained from a smaller engine than its basic liter size because the booster compresses the fuel and air before it gets to the cylinders.
In a diesel engine connected to a generator with a 23% engine efficiency, 1 liter of diesel should produce nearly 2.7 kilovolt-amperes. More with improved engine efficiency.
