Depending on the color and smell of the smoke, it could be a few things:
===
= Bluish white smoke with a sweet smell === This would most likely indicate a coolant leak into your combustion chamber. To get this fixed, you are looking at a complete engine rebuild (around $1000). This is the most likely failure if you are experiencing hard starting, smoking on startup, and occasional smoking while driving. Another fix for this problem that is very highly frowned upon is using the generic "Radiator Stop Leak", but be warned, this will make any rebuild of the engine in the future MUCH more expensive and time consuming. They may be able to diagnose this at a shop by doing a pressure test on the coolant system.
This, as the smell would lead you to believe, could indicate an oil leak into your combustion chamber. This also would need to be fixed with a full rebuild. This is less common, but not unheard of.
This would indicate that you may have a leaky fuel injector. if this is the case, you may be able to solve your problem temporarily by using a bottle of fuel injector cleaner, but eventually you will need to have your injectors cleaned or replaced.
Most people start to smoke for pleasure and because it may be cool but the more they smoke they get addicted to it until they really can't stop.
white smoke does not always mean oil. Where is the smoke coming from. Sometimes small pin holes in the water system can cause a white smoke or steam which appears to be smoke. If the engine is at idle that would be the only time you could see that type of hole until it gets bigger. Check for any loss of water/antifreeze in the vehicle.
White smoke = Coolant entering the combustion chamber. STOP driving this car until this is repaired or you will destroy this engine. Black Smoke = Overly rich fuel/air mixture. Too much fuel not enough air. STOP driving until this is repaired or you will ruin the converter and O2 sensor and possible do other damage. Blue Smoke = Engine is burning oil. Worn rings is normally the cause.
White smoke from the exhaust is a sign of coolant entering the combustion chamber. Most likely cause is a blown head gasket. Stop driving this vehicle until you have this repaired or you will destroy this engine.
It is really bad to smoke paper even if u dont inhale it. By burning it is is realeasing caobon monocide* into ur mouth and can cause mouth cancer or lung cancer (btw im 12 and its no good)
If your smoke detector is bleeping you have a serious risk of fire and the circuit breaker must not be reset until the fault that caused it to trip is investigated.
They treat you mean at sometimes until they really get to know you but deep inside they are mad in love with you.
You have a short! The "smoke" is most likely the plasic coating of the wires. I strongly recomend you not drive it until it's checked out by a qualified mechanic.
Aging takes place whether you smoke or not. But don't smoke, it's not good for you.
Yes they can. I break out in hives if I smoke a menthol cigarette and the funny thing is is that I smoked a year until I broke out into hives and that was the reason.
You may have blow a seal. This would cause oil to enter the combustion cylinder and cause blue smoke. Or the over fill could have cause oil to get in there and it will not smoke until it reaches the flash point (the point in wich it berns).
Is it possible that it was steam and not smoke? If the AC freezes up, it will stop cooling until it thaws. Then, it will being to operate again.
