Check for bad fuel injectors, bad connections and grounds to the block or restricted fuel delivery resulting in a lean out condition.
Could the CAT converter go bad in the truck. After checking every thing else out? yes, the cat can get plugged. to check this you need to disconnect the exaust before the cat, run the motor and see if it goes away. you might also try spraying carb cleaner or starting fluid around the intake while the engine is running. if there is any fluctuation in RPM or the the idle smooths out when you do this you need intake gaskets.
