You might have waited too long to replace your pump and caused damage to your steering box (or in your case your rack and pinion), or your pump doesnt pump the same gpm as the original. Is there play in the wheel before getting response from the wheels?
Did the stiffness get better after changeing your pump or stay the same? The problem might have been your rack and pinion and not the pump.
It'll be hard to steer a car. The steering wheel will be tough to steer.
If you are lucky tie rod (inner or outer) has to be replaced. If you are not lucky you will have to replace all steering mechanism (steering rack).
power steering fluid will spray out and u will not have any power steering it will steer like u don't have the car started [very hard] but u can still steer the car
replace the steering box
It may be out of power steering fluid
Using the wrong power steering fluid on a mini can cause all kinds of problems. The car might steer differently, or the fluid could leak or damage the steering rack and pump.
If Your steering has gotten difficult it is likely that you need to add power steering fluid. If that is not it then your power steering pump might be going out.
No, if you do you will have no power steering. You could not steer this vehicle with the power steering pump bypassed.
no. it will make it difficult to steer. Your car is poorly tracked. take it to kwik-fit and have them re-track it.
The pump pressurizes the power steering fluid. The fluid travels through the steering rack or steering box to aid in the making the vehicle steer easier.
Probably a bad power steering pump or bad power steering fluid.
yes you can, you have to take off you serpentine belt and then disconnect lines running to your power steering pump, take out the bolts and replace it.
