First do a tune up! Things like new wires, plugs, pcv valve, air filter, distributor cap and rotor button and even the oxygen sensor. Now next remove the entire air cleaner assembly and clean the carburetor with carb cleaner and (suggest using brake cleaner on the linkage ONLY) and then lube it with liquid wrench.Next remove the egr valve directly below the carb has one vacumm line, one electrical plug and has 3 10mm bolts that hold it in place.Note make sure when you remove this you NOTE how the metal gasket on the egr is placed.Just clean this with a small brush and sandpaper, cordless drill brush, with some brake cleaner or carburetor cleaner to clear the carbon buildup out.Reinstall the egr.Now if the truck still runs poorly at idle it could be the exhuast collector just below the exhaust manifold is blocked up,or blocked up catalytic convertor or even the air to fuel valve is defective(which is on the carburetor itself).Start with the tune up,clean the egr valve and repost on this post with the discussion area for a update after you do this and no change or improvement). The year model may be relevant if the truck is fuel injected, because of the specifics is it is not carburated being some b2200 series are not.

Check the fans on the radiator of the 1993 E-150 Van. The fans are supposed to turn on when the engine need cooled after reaching a certain temperature. This is usually due when the car is idling at lights or driving at higher speeds.

What causes 2000 ford ranger v-6 4.0 liter to miss at high speeds?

On the Ford 4.0 liter OHV , V6 engine the PCM starts cutting the fuel back at 5200 RPM in order to protect the engine when it is IN GEAR I believe it does it at 3000 RPM when there is no load on the engine ( park / neutral ) ( if that is what you mean by high speeds )

4 minutes before starting engine, and anytime your idling or driving at low speeds. It also says you should not run blower during refueling, but for 4 minutes after your done "before starting engine". This prevents blower from drawing gas fumes into the engine compartment.

What does the scv control soleniod valve do and what does it mean?

Nissan's swirl control valve (SCV) is an actuator that modulates intake air flow into the engine to increase low and high engine speed efficiency. The SCV does this by constricting the intake opening during idling and low engine speeds. This constriction creates a vortex effect of spiraling air ensuring better fuel vaporization and ultimately thus combustion. During higher engine speeds, the engine computer modulates the SCV to open up which reduces intake air restriction allowing for more power under throttle.
