Here are a few things that will be acceptable on a resume for listing under "awards and accomplishments." membership in... professional organizations related to the job example: association of related businesses academic organizations related to the job or your personal merits example: university honors society private clubs or other groups, if appropriate example: 4H awards... academic awards example: Dr. so-and-so fellowship, Best student award business awards example: employee of the month, best new product at ABC Co. others... certificates of merit from work, military, or volunteer activities degrees or certificates outside specialization of job meaningful sports titles and medals, if appropriate Be careful not to include things... that do not really have much merit in the big wide world like luke-warm awards such as 'most improved'--these do not make you look good that have nothing to do with the job or your character may be offensive to others
