The Glorious Revolution was in 1685-1688 It was caused by James II who became king of England when his brother Charles II died. He severely offended his subjects by flaunting his Catholicism and replacing high office members with catholic ones. Finally when English protestants learned that his second wife was pregnant with a son they were terrified of a catholic king chain. so William of orange was called in who was married to Mary James's older daughter and James got scared and ran out of England soon after on Ash Wednesday in 1688 William and marry became king and queen. After this they issued the English Bill of Rights and changed England from a absolute monarchy into a constitutional monarchy.
